Integrity Test

Measures the ability of the screen to stop the passage of flames and gases. This includes the perimeter of the frame which must be carefully sealed, as although the glass may stay in place, it is important that flames are not able to pass around the edge.

Stability Test

Ensures that the glazed screen will remain in the opening to which it has been fixed and thereby governs the way in which the screen is actually installed.

Insulation Test

Governs the frame’s ability to stop conducive or radiant heat. This means that although there may be a fire raging on one side of the glass, people and property on the other side are protected from the effects of transferred heat.

Integrity only
frame & glass

Radiant heat passes through the glass & frame
VJF's product standard - Radiant Heat 2

Integrity & Insulation
frame & glass

Radiant heat is unable to pass through the glass & frame
